Applications are now open for two national wine scholarship programmes supporting students and professionals passionate in establishing careers in the Australian wine industry.

The Sydney Wine Academy will run a New South Wales round of the Wine Scholar Guild’s 15th Anniversary Wine Scholar Challenge.

WSET have launched a new bursary fund for the Asia Pacific region. This will provide support for those who wish to study WSET qualification level 1 to 3 courses in support of their future career development, but are unable to do so due to financial reasons or other disadvantages.

The Sydney Wine Academy is now providing 50ml sample wines for students to do the wine tastings at home for both the WSET Award level 2 in Wines and the Australian Sommeliers Introductory courses.

It gives us great pleasure in announcing that Karen Macalister DipWSET has been appointed as the new Educational Administrative Support Officer for the Sydney Wine Academy.

On Tuesday 10th September 2019 the Sydney Wine Academy will hold an Open Night at Ryde Campus.

The Academy held its annual WSET Diploma in Wines and Spirits Graduation Dinner at the Restaurant Hubert in Sydney to celebrate the latest students to graduate with their Diploma in Wines and Spirits. Jude Mullins, International Development Director, represented WSET and presented the awards.

Wine Communicators of Australia (WCA) has announced this year’s winner of the NSW Legend of the Vine is our very own Clive Hartley. The announcement of the award, made by Wine Communicators Australia National Chair, Angus Barnes at the WCA Royal Sydney Wine Show lunch in front of 300 industry professionals.

In response to industry demand the Sydney Wine Academy is excited to announce that the WSET Award Level 2 course will be delivered in Canberra during August this year.
